About the Artist

Alanah is an Australian Artist specialising in figurative sculpting, shining her spotlight on Birth and Motherhood. Influenced by the human form, she recreates moments and scenes that hold and evoke intense emotion, artistically interpreting them through clay sculptures. Her project: The Birth Space; featuring women during birth and the immediate postpartum, was inspired by the experiences of birthing her five children at home and her passion for supporting and empowering women in birth, motherhood and beyond.

I’m Alanah; mother, wife and the artist behind Moon Birth Sculptures. My signature style focuses on women in birth, featuring moments and scenes that embrace women and their loved ones during birth and the immediate postpartum.

Each artwork is lovingly inspired by powerful women and their stories, alongside the warm birthing memories of experiencing five transformative and empowering homebirths myself.

I hope that my sculptures can hold centre in your birth space and aid as a beautiful visualisation tool in the lead up to your own birth, sending gentle reminders of encouragement, wisdom and empowerment as you journey your baby earthside and beyond.
